Residents of Balata, particularly women, produce a variety
of beautiful local crafts. These include embroidered clothes, purses, wallets,
mobile phone covers and more. All items shown are hand-stitched by women
in Balata.
Unemployment in the camp hovers around 80% and nearly every household
lives below the poverty line. Thus, any interest from abroad in purchasing
crafts produced in Balata will help the local economy resist military
suffocation and support hard-pressed families.

from Balata and selling them abroad, or if you are interested in ordering
